Teri Garr


Teri Ann Garr is a well known name in the American film industry.She is a an actress,singer,dancer,comedian and voice artist.Teri Garr born  on December-12,1987 in Lakewood,Ohio,USA to Eddie Garr,a broadway stage and film actor and Phyllis Garr,a dancer.She is known for her roles in Young Frankenstein,Tootsie,Mr.Mom,After Hours and Let it ride etc.She began her career as a background dancer for youth oriented films and TV shows.Some of the TV shows she starred are Mr.Novak, Batman,That girl, Room 222 and Star trek


She is having health issues.She was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1983.But she still continued her acting career. In 1992,she publicly confirmed that she was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.Again in 2006 she was diagnosed with ruptured brain aneurysm and lost her speech and motor skills which she regained in 2008 as a result of the therapy she underwent.As per the reports in 2015,she credited her family’s support and her positive attitude in her successful fight against the disease

Teri Garr was the winner on a celebrity edition of Weakest Link.She was listed as one of the “Promising New actors of 1977” in John Willis’ screen world.She is honored as a National Ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis society and National Chair for the Society’s Women against MS program (WAMS).

She was nominated for the “Best Supporting Actress” for her work Tootsie in Academy Award and British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) which was held in 1983 and 1984 respectively.Apart from that She was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 1978 in Academy of Science Fiction, Fantansy & Horror films,USA for her role in Close encounters of the third kind.She got the Best Acting Ensemble award in 1994 by National Board of Review,USA.
