Zoe Saldana

Zoe Yadira Saldana Nazario, was born on 19th June 1978, at New Jersey, U.S. Her parents, Aridio Saldana and Asalia Nazario raised her as bilingual, speaking English and Spanish.

Saldana lost her father at a very young age. She loves dancing and considered ballet as her passion from childhood. Her talent in ballet lead her to her debut film, Centre Stage (2000), in which she played the role of a ballet student named as Eva Rodriguez.

The American actress played as Nyota Uhura in Star Trek series, Naytiri in Avatar, and Gamora in the Guardians of Galaxy. She played the lead role in the 2016 movie Nina, which is the unauthorised biopic of the jazz musician Nina Simone.

The Star Trek actress has not opened up much about her religious views publicly. Probably she doesn’t want to discuss such matters out in public.

Saldana often wears a cross across her neck, and talks in a way which shows that she is religious. Yet, it is safe to assume that she is Catholic, and there is no proof that she denies her religion.

She has not clarified about her preferences in politics yet. Once she commented on the partiality in casting black women in Hollywood as, America has a black president right now and therefore there is no need to be worried about casting in Hollywood movies.

Saldana has said that she will support the President of United States Donald Trump and have faith in him. The reason was given that she is the citizen of America and is not supposed to choose one person over other.

Who is she dating?

Zoe Saldana was engaged to her long-time boyfriend Keith Britton in 2010 and they ended their eleven year long relationship in 2011.  She married the Italian artist Marco Perego in June 2013. They have 3 children including two twins. In the year 2015, the couple revealed that they have adopted each other’s’ surnames, therefore Zoe become Zoe Saldana-Perego and Marco become Marco Perego-Saldana.

Zoe Saldana Hobbies

Saldana says that she is interested in dancing, watching movies and reading books. She have studied many types of dancing but she considers ballet as her form of passion.
After studying at the academy for some time, she quit the ballet class, and later she told Vanity Fair that she quit ballet because she did not “have the feet” for a ballet dancer. Her skills as a ballet dancer has helped her to gain the role in her debut film, Centre Stage, as a ballet student and got many compliments for the role too.

    • She is left handed.
    • She has Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease. To reduce the effects of this disease, she follows a gluten- and dairy-free diet.
    • Saldana stated during her pregnancy that she and her husband has decided that their children will be bilingual, as they are planning to speak both English and Spanish around them.
