Geraldine James

Geraldine is an English actress best known for her role of Portia in the Broadway revival of Merchant of Venice and Hedda Gabler at the Royal Exchange, Manchester. She is known in Hollywood for her movies Bloody Kids, Sweet Williams, Gandhi, The Tall Guy, Words Upon The Window Pane, Sherlock Holmes, Alice in Wonderland, Made in Dagenham, The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, 45 Years, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Daphne, etc. She has received a Drama Desk Award and a Best Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival. Her phenomenal work has earned her nominations from BAFTA and Tony Awards.

Born in Berkshire, England, her father was a cardiologist. Given her background, it can easily be presumed that she is a Catholic. However, her religious practices remain obscure as such information has never been reported publicly.

James admits her mother to be an alcoholic and her father being the biggest support.
