Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock Divorce

Kelly Clarkson has filed for divorce along with her husband Brandon Blackstock, making a stop for their seven years of married life. It was in June 2020 that the couple decided to separate amicably, citing “irreconcilable differences”. Kelly Brianne Clarkson, the American singer-songwriter, actress, author, and television personality, was in the initial years of her career, when she first met Brandon Blackstock.

Clarkson and Blackstock were acquaintances from the beginning of her singing career, as he is the son of her manager, Narvel Blackstock. It was at the Academy of Country Music Awards that the pair first met. Blackstock was married at the time of their first meeting, but later got divorced, and their romance kicked off at the Super Bowl XLVI in 2012, when Narvel re-introduced his son to Clarkson. Later in an interview for The Daily Mail, she said that she had the feeling that she is destined to marry Blackstock the first time she met him. Since he was a married man at that time, she didn’t noticed him much.

Almost after 10 months of dating, Blackstock proposed her with a gorgeous yellow canary diamond. She announced the happy news to her fans via her social media accounts including Facebook and Instagram. She described the night he proposed as the happiest night ever occurred in her life. And they got married after four months of their engagement, in October 2013, at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee. The American singer recently commented on her wedding as an eloping one, as they went along with Blackstock’s children, and got married without inviting anyone.

Clarkson wanted to have a baby of herself, as she spend time with kids from Blackstock’s previous marriage, Savannah and Seth Blackstock. The couple had their first child, daughter River Rose Blackstock on June 2014. After two years, on April 2016, she gave birth to their second child, Remington Alexander Blackstock. She announced the birth of both her kids through social media platforms including Twitter and Instagram, and thanked everybody for praying for their children.

The couple lived happily with their four kids, and they accompanied Clarkson along with Blackstock in the premier of Ugly Dolls, in which Clarkson give her voice for the character in the movie. Clarkson stated in an interview that she and Blackstock remains active, both as parents and couples, since that is how they lead their life in a happy and organized way. Clarkson once stated in an interview that until meeting Blackstock, she was not so interested in romance, and it was him who made her think seriously about staying committed. She said that it was Blackstock who made her to stay in bed all day.

Clarkson recently posted pictures where her family seemed to be spending time together in quarantine, kids hanging out with their father, and so on. But it was a shocking news for the couple’s fans that they have filed for divorce, as such kind of news was never expected. They filed for divorce on June 2020, bringing an end to the seven years of married life, and has asked for the joint custody of their two children. However, the couple denied to comment about the filing of their divorce.
