Ian McShane


Ian David McShane, the English actor and voice actor was born on 29th September, 1942, at Lancashire, England. He is the son of Harry McShane, a Scottish footballer and Irene. 

McShane was a student in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), when he acted in his first film, The Wild and the Willing in the year 1962. His characters as the title role in the BBC series Lovejoy (1986-1994), and as Al Swearengen in the HBO series Deadwood (2004-2006), and in the movies This Must Be Belgium, Villain, Sexy Beast, Kung Fu Panda, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, are the most notable ones. He won the Golden Globe Award, Primetime Emmy Award, etc. for his talent in acting.

McShane has Scottish, Irish and English ancestry, through his father and mother. But beyond this information, there is no references regarding the religion or religious beliefs of Ian McShane. 

McShane has starred in the television series, American Gods, as God himself. But that doesn’t give a hint about his religious side. He has not made any public statements regarding his concepts regarding religion either.

Ian McShane married English actress Suzan Farmer in 1965, and the couple got divorced in the year 1968. Later, in 1970, he married model Ruth Post. They had two children, Kate and Morgan. 

The marriage life of McShane with Ruth Post ended in 1976, after realizing about his relationship with Dutch model and actress Sylvia Kristel. The relationship of McShane with Kristel was kind of violent and problematic. Kristel, in her autobiography has stated that she had a miscarriage as a result of a fight with McShane. They ended their relationship after this incident in 1980. 

McShane married actress Gwen Humble in the year 1980, and the couple are living together in California.
