Billy Connolly



Billy Connolly with birthname as William Connolly is a Scottish Comedian, musician, presenter and actor.He was born on November 24,1942 in Anderston,Glasgow,Scotland.He is also known by his nickname "The Big Yin".Connolly made the transition from folk-singer to a Comedian in the early 1970s and then became a successful Comedian later.

He also acted in a number of films like Water,Indecent Proposal,Pocahontas,Mupet Treasure Island, Mrs.Brown,The Boondock Saints,The Man who sued God,The Last Samurai,Timeline, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events,Garfield:A Tail of two Kitties,Open Season, The X-Files:I want to believe, Brave,Quartet and The Hobbit:The Battle of five armies.

Billy Connolly described himself as an atheist.He said that because of the Roman Catholicism rigid practices he became a victim of sexual abuse by his father in his early age as his father was not allowed to remarry after his mom left the family.

Connolly seems to be in support of the UK's Labour Party.He made statements against the Scottish Independence and also blamed the Scottish National Party for the increase in the "anti-English racism" in Scotland and was in strong support of the Union between Scotland and England.He also said in a statement in reference to Darien Scheme that "You must remember that the Union saved Scotland.Scotland was bankrupt and the English opened us up to their American and Canadian markets from which we just flowered"
