Diane Lane
Diane Lane was born on January 22nd 1965.
She is an American actress who made her
screen debut with 1979 film A Little Romance and then acted in several notable films
like The Outsiders, A Walk on the Moon, The Perfect Storm, Under the Tuscan Moon
and Trumbo. She received New York Film Critics and National Society of Film
Critics awards for Best Actress in a Motion Picture [Drama]. She also worked in
Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as Martha Kent and will
again be seen in the upcoming Justice League film.

Despite of the fact that Lane’s maternal grandmother
was a Pentecostal Preacher and she also enjoyed her theatrical sermons, she is
not religious but more of a spiritual person. Lane’s ancestors are English,
German and Scottish. She often talks about the self confidence and adrenaline
involved in theatre which requires so much of focus and intention that a prayer
would not be enough. Lane is not an
atheist either but she would call herself a member of the church.

Lane is involved in a couple of charities like
environmentalism and sustainability. She is a democrat liberal as two of her
financial contributions are to first a democratic candidate and second was made
on the day Barack Obama inaugurated Moveon.org which is a liberal political action
organization. Lane was happy that she has a gay fan base but that is hardly
supporting the idea of gay marriage. Lane is involved in other charities like
World Hunger, Artist for Peace and Justice, a Hollywood organization that
supports Haiti relief. It is suffice to
say that Lane is a non political.

Lane was married to actor Christopher Lambert in
October 1988. She met Lambert in Paris while promoting The Cotton Club in 1984
and had a brief affair before they split up. They met after two years in Rome
for the making of the film, Priceless Beauty and started dating again. They
have a daughter together born in September 1993 named Eleanor Lambert. They were
separated for a long time and were divorced in 1994. Lane then got married to
Josh Brolin in August 2004 and they were divorced in December 2013 due to
several misunderstandings in the relationship.

Lane enjoys watching movies and listening to music and
also has a huge home-theatre in her house. She is collector of antique furniture
and high heels. She mentioned in her Playboy interview that she has a thing for
really high thigh-boots and she loves her collection of high heels. Lane loves
spending time with her daughter Eleanor Lambert. She enjoys keeping fit and
does yoga. She loves travelling, going for walks and horse riding.
