John Leguizamo


John is a Columbian-American multi-talented actor. He is well-known for being a voice actor, stand-up comedian, film producer, playright and screenwriter. Some of his prominent movies have been Mixed Blood, Casualties of War, Revenge, Die Hard 2, Poison, Out for Justice, Whispers in the Dark, Night Owl, Super Mario Bros, Executive Decision, The Fan, Love in the Time of Cholera, The Lincoln Lawyer, Kick Ass-2, Meadowland, Stealing Cars, The Crash, and more. Some television series he has starred or created are House of Buggin' on Fox Television, Arabian Nights, Edison, The Electric Company, Only Fools and Horses, Bloodline, etc. He has also written and taken part in theaters such as Off-Broadway which won many awards. John has been awarded the Rita Moreno HOLA Award for Excellence, from the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors. Leguizamo has even earned two nominations at the Tony Award.

Born in Bogota, he has a Puerto Rican, Italian, and Lebanese descent. His family immigrated to the United States when he was four. This background and other reports indicate that John is a Catholic.

In 1994, he married actress Yelba Osorio. Unfortunately, they got divorced in two years. He was then married to Justine Maurier who is a costumer at the Carlito's way. She is a Jew. They live in Manhattan, New York with their two children.

John Leguizamo Hobbies

John was a brave prodigy since childhood. He had already started writing comic material in school and used to try it on his friends. His skills got him selected in the Lee Strasberg's actor's studio. His passion for theatre can also be attributed to his major in theatre from New York University. He declares himself to be a huge fan of New York Mets team, that shows his deep interest in baseball.

He was listed John Willis Screen World among the 12 Most Promising New Actors of 1991.

John can speak fluent Spanish, as he is a native Latino.
