John Cusack


Considered to be an unconventional hero often said to be avoiding media spotlight, John Cusack is an Irish-American actor, producer and screenwriter who has worked in several stage productions, commercial voiceovers and industrial films. Some of his prominent movies are High Fidelity, Grosse Pointe Blank, Being John Malkovich, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Hot Tub Time Machine and The Raven. He owns a production company called New Crime Productions, that has received great success at the Box office. Some of the awards under his belt are Chicago Film Critics Association, Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, Satellite Awards, and Canadian Screen Awards. Other than this he has earned innumerable nominations at Screen Actor's Guild Award, BAFTA, Teen Choice, Golden Globe, Saturn Awards etc. 

John Cusack  Religion

John is Roman Catholic and has Irish descent. His father was a mathematician and political activist and mother a vehement human rights activist.

John Cusack Political Views

With no special affiliation to political parties per se, he used to write blogs for The Huffington Post expressing disdain over Bush administration for the Iraq War. Furthermore, he even criticized Barack Obama's administration for his drone policy over the Middle East. He avidly supports the Freedom of the Press Foundation.

His relationship status is complicated as he dated Jodi Lyn O'Keefe for years but broke up as he didn't commit to marriage. He has interestingly dated many female celebrities such as Jami Gertz, Claire Forlani, Melissa Gilbert, Lili Taylor, Minnie Driver, Uma Thurman and more.

John Cusack Hobbies

John Cusack has a busy wake-up routine. He is trained in kick-boxing and has six-level black belt. He  is a follower of the Transcendental Meditation Movement that was started by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1950s. This shows his interest in meditation and relaxing activities. John is also a big fan of Punk rock music.

Interesting Facts

He recently gave a controversial statement saying, "Hollywood is a whorehouse and people go mad here". 

John has directed and produced several shows for Chicago based theater group The New Criminals. 

The movie Say Anything...gave him the teen idol status.

He is a great fan of Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox and has attended many Stanley Cup games.

Cusack organized a well-thought meeting with NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden along with writer Arundhati Roy which turned out to be a book titled, " Things That Can and Cannot Be Said".
